Festival of Sharing

 

EVERY FALL, THE WEST OHIO CONFERENCE of the United Methodist Church comes together to participate in The Festival of Sharing. The Festival of Sharing is:

·  a CELEBRATION of what God in Christ has done for us in providing the harvest, and of our year-long efforts to bring in the harvest;

·  an AWARENESS of the needs of others in the world and ways to express solidarity with our sisters and brothers;

·  a MOTIVATION under the power of God to be more involved in the ministries of your local church.

 

Once again, we collect and send Hygiene Kits to the October 9 event. We are asked to provide the contents exactly as listed below, along with $2.00 to defray the shipping costs incurred when the kits are distributed by the West Ohio Conference and Church World Service.

 

 

·  One hand towel measuring approximately 16" x 28" (no fingertip or bath towels)

·  One washcloth

·  One wide-tooth comb

·  One nail clipper

·  One bar of soap (bath size in wrapper)

·  One toothbrush (in original packaging)

·  Six standard size Band-Aids®

·         Place all items in a one-gallon plastic bag with a zipper closure; remove excess air from bag, and seal. Please do not add toothpaste to the Hygiene Kit. Cartons of toothpaste that have an extended expiration date will be added to Hygiene Kit shipments just prior to shipment.

 

These Kits will be collected during the month of September. Please deposit your completed kit in the white mission baskets by the restrooms near the Church Offices or Fellowship Hall.
