Our Ministries

Our ministries at Forest Chapel, whether internally or externally, is a reflection of Our Mission. Our Mission is to live in Christ and make disciples of Christ to transform our community for the better. Working together with fellow Christians allows us to do more to affect the lives of those who desire a better life. Our ministries allow each of us as Disciples of Christ to be an invitation to others to Come, Connect and Serve.

As the body without spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. - James 2:26

Children

The heart of children's ministry at Forest Chapel is to teach kids about who God is and how His word applies to their lives in creative and memorable ways.  Through engaging teaching and supportive environment, we guide kids towards a better understanding of what it means to have a real relationship with God.  Our partnership with The Learning Garden Academy and the community of Forest Park leaders allows us endless opportunities to foster our relationship with God and the community.

The Learning Garden Academy (LGA) is a Christ-centered, bible-based, early learning program that combines best practices in early childhood education and development, complemented by a balance of self-explored and teacher-led learning activities. This program provides open-ended, project-based learning opportunities through Creative Curriculum. The State of Ohio has designated our program a 5-star center through their step up to quality rating system. Click here to learn more.

We also have The Village in Forest Chapel which was founded to nurture a growing population of at-risk youth.

Youth

If you spend any time around our church at all, you'll quickly learn one thing: we love students. They're smart. They're funny. They're bold. And they're bursting with potential. We truly believe that the middle and high school students in our midst are world changers in the making.

That's why student ministry is such a huge part of what we do at our church. We want to guide our students in developing a personal faith in Christ as they step into their specific roles in the story He's writing with their lives. We work hard to create environments that engage students in good conversation about God, encouraging them to ask questions, search out answers, and truly learn to listen to His leading in their lives.

Adults

Don't worry, all the good stuff at our church isn't just for the under 18 crowd! We have plenty of engaging events and gatherings designed to build the faith and community of our adults as well. Young or old, Christian or not, single or married, man or woman—we've got a place for you!

Bethlehem Bhutanese Ministry (BBM)

Bethlehem Bhutanese Ministry (BBM) is our ministry that reaches out to our Nepali speaking community.

At BBM we believe that God exists to bring individuals into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to help them learn to follow Christ and to lead them into the fullness of the Spirit-filled life.

This belief is reflected in the vision and mission of BBM: ministering to the entire family. We will do this through worship, evangelism, discipleship, prayer, youth, and children’s ministries, care ministry and mission.

BBM has worship in Nepali every Sunday at noon.

Every Saturday from noon- 2:30pm, children, youth and adult ministries meet for Bible study.

12 Hours of Non-Stop Prayer starting at 3:00 AM on Friday to Saturday at 3:00 PM at the end of each month. If you would like to sign up for an hour, please click here

Giving Garden & Produce Pop Up

The Giving Garden was established in 2019 with an idea. An idea that no person should have to go hungry because they can’t afford food. A thought that land was going to waste. The congregation decided enough was enough, they wanted to give back to the community and create a space where people could come together to help the community. Thanks to this vision The Giving Garden thrives today. Community members have grown kale, carrots, tomatoes, and more.

Produce Pop Up Coordinated by Officer Ron Wilson, of the Forest Park Police Department, the Produce Pop-Up Is run by University of Cincinnati students, firefighters, and Forest Chapel volunteers. By having this pop-up Forest Chapel helps provide needed vegetables to people who might not be able to buy them at the local supermarket. This service is needed now more than ever because of Covid-19, when people may not be able to go to the store because of health risks. Forest Chapel is proud to be able to help our community in this way.

If you are interested in participating, drop a note to our office.

The Forest Chapel Parish Health Ministry focuses on wellness by offering blood pressure screening once a month (generally the third Sunday) both before and after the church service.

We also submit an article on health and wellness to the church newsletter each week. We have a supply closet with shower seats, canes, crutches and wheelchairs which are available to our congregation.

If anyone would like to help with this ministry, please call Carolyn Bretz at 513-851-4118. Please leave a message and I will be happy to call you back.
